Please Pray !!1

Please be in prayer for Tom and Connie McCarty and family. Tom’s mom is now with our heavenly Father. Tom has expressed this is what his mom desired and it is a celebration of her life and faith.

Mrs. Anne Lois McCarty, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at the Robert Packer Hospital, in Sayre, PA.

Lois was born February 9, 1931, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, a daughter of the late John E. & Anne Owens Williams. She graduated in June 1949 from Dallas Township High School, Dallas, PA.

On July 23, 1949, she married the love of her life, Richard D. McCarty, who predeceased her on December 22, 2013, after 64 years of marriage. They lived and farmed in Elkland Township, and together they had four children: Dr. Thomas R. and Connie McCarty, Newville, PA; Patricia and Michael Foster, Cogan Station, PA; Barbara Jean and Randy Durlin, Danville, PA; and Kay Evelyn and John Krakoski, Dushore, PA.

Richard and Lois were proud grandparents of thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. Her family was her greatest treasure.

Lois felt she had many blessings in this life. She was born into a church going family, was dedicated and baptized in the First Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre, and married by the same minister, the Rev. Dr. Charles Roush.

Lois was active in her church as a Sunday School Teacher, consistory member, and janitor of St. Peters U.C.C. in Elkland Township, and later in her life became a member of St. Paul’s Church of Overton. She loved to read, sew and paint, and to visit with friends and neighbors.

She was the oldest of the children in her family. Lois is survived by a: brother and sister-in-law, Thomas, and Mary Jane Williams; two sisters and a brother-in-law; Charlotte Crouthers and Molly Anne and Richard Rae; and a sister-in-law: Emma Williams.

She was predeceased by two brothers: Jack Williams and James Williams, a sister: Betsy Dixon, and a brother-in-law: Granville Crouthers.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Church of Overton PA with her pastor, Rev. Ron Dyer, officiating.

Her family will receive friends and family before the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service in St. Paul’s fellowship hall. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Shunk, PA.

The family will provide the flowers and request that Memorial contributions be directed to St. Paul’s Church of Overton, PO Box 284, Dushore, PA 18614

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
