Thank you!

Dear Family,

Praise God for the beautiful, caring, and generous people that you are.  Joyce and I are so grateful for you, the beautiful cards, the extremely kind words, your prayers, and the gifts that you blessed us with for Pastor Appreciation and many other times as well.

We consider it a privilege to serve alongside you in ministry.  God is using your prayers and support to encourage us and to carry us.  We feel loved and cared for.  Thank you! Thank you!  Thank you!

May God continue to receive the glory as we walk with Him together.

"Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to your name, be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness."  Psalm 115:1

For His Glory,

Gary

Please pray!

Dear Family,

Friday, October 25 God called Virginia Sailhamer home to her eternal home in glory.  She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior and reunited with her husband, Lewis, and her son, Ron, and other family members.  Please pray for comfort for her son, Willis and other family members and friends.  Virginia’s Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, October 30 at 11:00 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Mike Wingert requested prayer for healing and strength.  He is now at home recovering.

Thank you for partnering in prayer.

Living Stones Country Store Cafe Sign Up Change

Church Family,

There has been a change to the sign-up deadline for the Living Stones’ dinner at the Country Store Café.  Originally, the deadline to sign up and pay to attend the dinner was Sunday, November 3.  However, the Country Store Café needs the total count earlier than that date in order to plan for the meal.  If you are 50 or older and would like to attend this dinner, please sign up and pay Rich Mathna by this Sunday, October 27.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  If you have any questions, please call the church office.

Thanks,

Sonja

SFCOG Prayer Update

Hello Church Family,

Here are a few updates for your prayers as we begin a new week:

  • Praise the Lord that Pastor Gary was discharged from Hershey Hospital yesterday. Continue to pray for comfort, healing, and perseverance.

  • Mima Willis has begun PT following her knee replacement and reports that it is challenging, but she can feel the benefits. She also said she received a positive and encouraging report from her doctors, and she cherishes the work of all her prayer warriors.

  • Virginia Sailhamer has been bed confined for the past two weeks, and her family expects that she will soon be called home to her Lord. Pray for her Son, Willis, as he stays with her and cares for her, and for all of her family and friends during this time.

  • Continue to remember the families of Loretta Clouse and Don Uglow Jr. as they grieve their passings.

Thank you for your united prayers on behalf of our church family.

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

--Ephesians 4:1-6

SFCOG Prayer Updates

Hello Church Family,

Please join in prayer to lift up the families of two individuals connected with our fellowship who passed away this week:

Remember the family of Loretta Clouse who departed this world peacefully at Shippensburg Rehabilitated and Healthcare center. Pray for her husband Jay, and their children.

Remember also the family of Donnie Uglow Jr. who departed this life peacefully at Mercy House in Chambersburg. Keep his wife, Sarah, Mother, Janet, and all of their family in your prayers.

Show me, Lord, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.
You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.
Surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom; in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth without knowing whose it will finally be.
But now, Lord, what do I look for?
My hope is in you.
‭‭—Psalms‬ ‭39‬:‭4‬-‭7‬

In prayer,
Pastor Rodney

Weber Family Meal Train Update

Hello Church Family,

Rob and Kerri Weber's family has extended the Meal Train schedule if you would like to continue showing support to them during Rob's recovery. The following words are from their family:

"We Appreciate how the whole congregation there in Shippensburg has surrounded her during this time."

In the link below you can see that Kerri has specified which days that meals will be helpful (3 per week). Other ideas to consider including are 'grab and go' healthy snacks (fresh fruit/veggies/ cheese/etc.) and things that would be easy for Kerri to pack when heading to the hospital to visit Rob, and of course having easy 'at hand' snacks for kids is helpful.

Thank you all,
